Airport Express drops connection with iTunes randomly

After a few years of faithful service, my Airport Express has suddenly started dropping the connection with iTunes for no apparent reason. The green light is still displayed on the AE.

I've just been searching the forums for a solution without luck. Was hoping to find it here but at least it seems that I'm not alone with the problem.

I have a Mac Mini that was using the Airport Express to connect to the internet and also would happily stream music to my hi-fi via airtunes.

Just bought a Time Capsule and therefore use that for the wireless internet connection and want to use the Airport Express purely to stream music, but the connection keeps dropping out for anything between 5 seconds to 30 seconds. Can't fathom it out!

Is it to do with the way I'm connecting it all?

HELP!!

It just happenend again 😟
Airport extreme is connected to a WLAN router (WPA2) as client and was used to stream music by iTunes.
Suddenly the connection broke, both iTunes and Airport Utility could not connect to the Airport Extreme.
But my router configuration utility can "see" the Airport Express and it is still possible to ping it by using the correct IP adresss.
So I assume there is no problem with my router, my network or my configuration, it is just a problem with the Apple software 😟
Any ideas ?
