Linux + iPhone ICS

Hi! I would like to use the Internet Connection Sharing the iPhone offers with my Linux Netbook. But somehow this is not supported without jailbreaking the phone, which is out of the question for me. Is there a way to do so ?
Since it's working with windows, it should be working with Linux.

debian, iPhone OS 3.1.3

Windoze and Linux are about as far apart as can be.

OS X and Linux are based on UNIX which makes them much more comparable.

Linux is not supported with the iPhone. Copied from this link.
