Ipod lanyard

The iPod Lanyard connects to your iPod nano at the dock connector and headphones port. Its just a piece of plastic or metal that snaps right into both. Try this out. Attach your headphones and your dock connector to your iPod and swing it around - if you dare... this is about how the lanyard will hold it.

The Ipod feels secure.
You have to use a little bit force to disconnect the lanyard from the ipod, therefore it really shouldn't come of by jogging.
I have a black nano with lanyards myself and it looks good to me (i'm sorry, can't take pictures). The included headphones are white also. The difference of the lanyard is that it has a silvery piece of plastic that connects it to the dock and headphone connector simultaneously. The rest of it is withe, like the standard headphones. Most of the cables are hidden inside a white woven cord.

I feel my nano is very secure when it's hanging off the lanyard--I also have it in an Agent 18 case, so it's heavier than normal and I don't feel that it's going to fall off. The earphones are the same quality as the ones that ship with the nano. Use your own judgement as to whether this is good or bad.

I've heard that the sound quality is better with the lanyard headphones. I odn't know if I believe that, but I do know that I don't get any static sound while listening on the lanyard phones which I used to get when I listened on the stock phones (because they would get so tangled up and abused). The lanyard keeps the phones nice and straight. And I agree that the nano's on there securely... I have to pull really hard to get it apart! :-D

I've only used the lanyard headphones. I haven't opened the stock ones that came with my nano, so I can't compare them for sound quality. They definately LOOK like the same headphones, however. I have no complaints about the lanyard's sound quality . They've met my expectations. If I'm not wearing the lanyard, I have some very old Pioneer headphones (bought back in the days of walkmen) that I use because the sound is excellent and they're very comfortable. However, lately, I've just used the lanyard--it's a very convenient and safe way to carry the nano.

I don't hear any difference between the original headphones and the lanyard. To me the sound is good.

If you get static sounds with the headphones, then replace them, it's broken. My originals gave strange creaking noises at the left speaker and I had no problems to replace them at my apple store.

The lanyard is very secure and the sound quality is fine. I'm more afraid that I'll drop the iPod when I'm removing the lanyard than anything else.

If you're planning on running, I'd keep the nano tucked inside your shirt to keep it from bouncing up and down on your chest an possibly coming off or being abused.

I own the Lanyard Headphones, and I feel like the Nano is completely secure while it is in use. The sound quality is no better or worse than that of the included headphones that come in the box. I would suggest getting an armband for heavy exercising, and the lanyard is good for just walking around, or lounging. The armband just seems more secure when bouncing up and down while running.

I and the rest of my family have nanos with lanyards and have no complaints except one, I wish Apple had made the headphone cord a little longer!
I am 42 and becoming myopic, so I have my lanyard extended out almost to its limit. This draws the headphones closer to the center of the back of my neck, this in turn tugs the headphone cord backward out of my ears so that I find that the earbuds want to work their way out of my ears. The rest of my family hasn't complained so it may just be me.
Sound quality: no difference from standard Apple buds (its just the creeping out of my ears that bothers me)
Nano security: great, no sign of the nano slipping out of the lanyard. In fact, it sometimes takes a good grip to pull the lanyard off of the nano when its time to sync or charge.

is there a button where you press so that it releases from connecting to the nano? if there isn't and you have to pull it a lot, isn't it gonna break?

There is no release button. The nano stays in place based on a friction fitting provided by both the headphone jack and a plastic portion that grips the iPod dock connector. To reomove the nano from the lanyard, my wife and children grip firmly on the sides (where the cables come out) and pull away. I pinch on the chrome (I hate grabbing cords) and pull out.
If you pull straight away from the nano, I don't think you can break it. I don't know if the friction fit will wear out over time but so far so good.

If you plan to jog, I would recomend an arm band. A nano on a lanyard probably will stay in place during jogging, but I wouldn't want to risk it (and I wouldn't be able to tolerate the nano bouncing against my chest).
