🙂 Well done mf. The following bit is the most important with one of these:
HRESULT:0x80070020
These ones tend to correspond to equivalent error message codes that people get when downloading Windows updates. The 0x80070020 tends to indicate interference, particularly by security software. But other programs might also interfere.
So we're going to try to do the installs with as much shut down as possible. Print out a copy of these instructions. It's going to be best not to have a web browser running at the sharp end of things.
Restart the PC. Don't open any applications after the restart,
except for Apple Software Update. In ASU, open the Downloaded Applications folder. Now quit out of ASU, leaving the Downloaded Applications folder window open.
Now disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Then switch off
all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware.
Now attempt to do the standalone Apple Application Support install again. If it goes through okay this time, try the iTunes install.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Any better luck with security software and everything else shut down?
