cant sign into apple ID using Genius on itunes

i've changed my password several times, double, triple, quadruple checked my id to make sure its accurate.
i can log into my ID using my password on the website, but genius keeps telling me my password is wrong. when i use the correct ID it says:
"The Apple ID couldnt be found or the password was incorrect. Please try again."
when i enter in a random password, fake password (incorrect obviously)
it says:
"your Apple ID or password was entered incorrectly"

so it seems to be recognizing my password is correct to atleast give me a different message. so why cant i log in and use Genius?

any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. I have a valid iTunes Store account, and I can log in to that account from the "store" tab, but when I try to turn on Genius it refuses to recognize my account.

I have followed the steps recommended in this support document: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389, with no luck. The problem as outlined in that document isn't exactly what's going on, either. I'm not being repeatedly prompted to authorize the computer, I just can't get Genius to recognize my account.

i am having the excact same problem, i have tried to find a solution to this for quit some time and i a happy to see a post being made about this. if any one find a solution plz share it here.

funny i just manage to fix this for my self, dont know if this will help the rest of you, but here it goes.
i went in to store and manually logged inn whit my apple-id, then i went to genius and logged inn there, and this time it just worked...
