Windows 7 - 64bit: Error 2324

So, I recently decided to update my iTunes, using the Apple Updater. The update was never able to successfully complete (although iTunes would open, it wouldn't let me sync my iPod Touch, 2nd gen), so I decided to try the install again. However, once I did I was given Error 2324, which says "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package". I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes over and over again, always with the same error. I've tried manually deleting the iTunes folder, and for some reason my computer says I need SYSTEM privileges to do so. Being the system administrator, I don't understand why that wouldn't work.

Now I've deleted all of my other Apple folders in my desperation, and iTunes won't even open anymore. Uninstalling still gives me error 2324. Help?

Thanks.
