iCal Syncing with Dropbox.
Download and install the Dropbox app, then open your Mac's Terminal utility. Enter this command:
mv ~/Library/Calendars/ ~/Dropbox/
to move your iCal files to Dropbox
Step 2
On a new line, type
ln -s ~/Dropbox/ Calendars/ ~/Library /Calendars
to redirect your Mac to Dropbox whenever it tries to access iCal data.
Step 3
Delete the Calendars file from the User Library on your second Mac. Open Terminal and reenter the code from step 2. You've essentially built an Ethernet cable in the cloud, linking the two Macs.
I have done this on my main mac and it has worked. Going into my dropbox folder (within home folder) shows the Calendars folder with all the same items within as the original.
Going to my macbook the Calendars folder appears in my dropbox, so great. When in terminal on macbook I paste in step two as required:
ln -s ~/Dropbox/ Calendars/ ~/Library /Calendars
But i then get:
In: /Calendars: No such file or directory
My dropbox is in my home folder on my macbook and I deleted my Calendars folder from my user library. Why is it going wrong.
Hope you can help.
