Macbook keeps freezing and fading to white.

Hello everyone, hoping you can help me. I recently purchased a MacBook at the very end of last year, roughly around the 29/30th December and in the last few weeks it's began freezing with the display fading slowly to white.

Originally this started happening every now and again but in the last few days it's happening all the time and making using the MacBook difficult or sometimes impossible. It's hard to explain but basically everything freezes and then fades to white, until eventually everything disappears. I've managed to take a photo from my phone of what happens.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what the problem is and how I can resolve this issue, thanks for your help.

You can also call AppleCare; 800-APL-CARE and they will send out a mailer to you for overnight ship and fix it and return it overnight. I did this with my MacBook a couple of years ago. Took a total of 2 days. Depending on what needs to be repaired, you will most likely need to leave it at the Apple Store for a few days and make a return trip to pick it up. I did it this way too. Prefer to use APL-CARE over Apple Store.

There won't be any solution to the problem because your display has been damaged, so the only way to solve the problem would be to send it in for repair - even if you did try to find a solution you might make the problem worse...I would assume the time it would take for repair would vary but I would guess at about two weeks. Sorry about that but sending it in for repair would probably be the easiest thing to do, even if you wouldn't be able to use your computer for a while...

Having the same exact issue as OP with my 2007 Macbook Pro. I'll be contacting Apple tomorrow to see if I can get it fixed (w/o a warranty). Right now I have a clamp on the right side of the screen squeezing the bezel to keep the screen active.
