Update 3.1.3 - Now Bose SoundDock prompts not compatible message.
After updating my phone to 3.1.3, my Bose SoundDock causes my phone to display a message saying that it is not compatible with my phone. My wife's phone that is the same model iPhone running 3.1.2 doesn't have this problem.
I have the same problem. After updating the iphone software the sounddock no longer works. Upon placing the phone in the dock it gives the message "...not compatible with this device. Do you wish to go into airplane mode...". If you choose yes it goes into airplane and does not respond or charge. If you choose no it does not respond or charge.

Snap! After I bought the new Bose sounddock in december I could use the dock but the remote didn't control the iPhone the next update got everything working but since the latest update nothing works in airoplane mode or normal yet my girlfriends identical phone with 3.1.2 works perfectly in the dock.... How do I go back or fix this? I now have a £300 paperweight
i have a recent sounddock (purchased christmas 2009), however it must have been manufactured before august 2009 because I read on the BOSE site that:
When connecting any iPhone, some earlier versions of the SoundDock® Portable system (manufactured before August 2009) and SoundDock® Original system (manufactured before August 2009) will prompt iPhone to display a message stating "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone". These systems will still play music with iPhone and iPhone 3G/S, however in the event of audible interference, set iPhone to Airplane Mode.
What bothers me is that it worked fine until I updated my iphone software...and now nothing.
I have the identical issue with my older Bose Sounddock and my iPhone 3GS 32GB which has a griffin adapter, this was all working just fine until I updated to iPhone firmware 3.1.3.
Now the sound intermittently cuts out in applications and no longer works in sounddock.
iPod works fine and plays OK when not in dock, but as soon as I put it in the bose cradle ... no sound at all although track is playing!! All other controls work just fine (pause, skip tracks back and forth).
As mentioned this worked fine before the firmware update, in fact if I put my husbands iPhone 3gs in the same dock it plays fine (firmware 3.1.2) which seems to prove the sounddock is working fine.
