9.0.3 - itunes won't connect to airtunes

I just upgraded to 9.0.3 and now iTunes will not connect to Airtunes (run through a 3-year old Airport Express). None of our 3 Macs will connect. The Express shows as an option on the speakers drop down in iTunes, but won't connect. This just started happening upon upgrade.

The APExpress is joined to our Time Capsule wireless network.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the responses.

Yes, the green light is on and I've rebooted the express. I've examined it using Airport Utility and all looks fine there.

The error message just says that it failed to connect to the device and a network error occurred (no numbered error message). The network is otherwise working fine.

Nothing has changed except the upgrade to iTunes 9.0.3. It worked fine before that (upgraded from whatever the previous release was). We don't run a software firewall, just what the TimeCapsule already has.

It looks as though others are having issues with 9.0.3 and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem.
