iPhone 3GS getting very warm under normal use, after 3.1.3 OS update

I updated my iPhone 3GS to 3.1.3 when it was released the other day. Since then battery life has been rubbish, sometimes losing 15% or more overnight, and the phone gets very warm whilst charging. It never got warm before the 3.1.3 update.

I've switched it off and back on again but no change.

Would a full restore to 3.1.3 help, or is this indicative of a wider problem with the update?

No its nothing to do with the update IMO but if you search the forum you'll see a large and very uninformative thread about battery problems, a few lines from where both of you posted.

Opinion is divided on the subject - millions of happy users who don't bother posting that they are happy, and a small number who insist 3.1.3 is the cause of all ills.

Draw you own conclusions 😉
