Restore to 3.1.2?

Apple.

Many users including myself are having major issues with the 3.1.3 firmware, and as an added bonus, it is impossible for us to restore to 3.1.2 to fix the issues. Could you please add an update or something similar to give us the feature to downgrade to 3.1.2, so that we can use something stable while you come up with a fix.

Thanks

iPhone 3GS, iPhone OS 3.1.3, None

Sorry to hijack the thread, but we are also having problems. 3G has become useless at my partner's work. AT&T is going to check the towers. (I'm sure that'll solve the problem).

Turning off 3G and everything works fine. Having 3G on makes the phone useless for messaging, phone calls and any internet activity. We've been through all of the resets to no avail.

So it's either the towers local to you or it still is in fact an OS issue specific to a corruption on the two devices you have...

That said, having the same OS bug on two different devices is quite rare I'll agree so I'm going to tip my scale towards the tower issue...

But when you say all reset steps have been taken...

Hopefully one of those steps was to do a full restore... if this was not done. it needs to be to truly rid the iPhone of an OS bug... but you MUST use "set up as new iPhone" when prompted... NOT restore from back up. If you used restore from back up you need to try the full restore again with "set up as new iPhone"

Check them yourself by putting the phone into test mode.

I have done it that way as the forum has problems with the * key so its a long string of characters before you press Call.

If you get call failed, then you haven't entered the string correctly.

In the top LH corner of the screen you will see the received RF strength in dBm - it should be between 80 and 120. Its where the bars normally sit.

Let us know what it is in your workplace.

Pressing Home returns the phone to normal.
