Aperture 3 Export Slideshow to iDVD?

Export it to the deskop and then after add it to your iDVD project.

Trial and error...

Because preparing a DVD requires compressing your Photos heavily, I personally would export at the largest size possible. But there are a lot of variables.

Tried your suggestion of exporting to desktop. Under the File> Export menu, all i have is Version, Master, Metadata, and Slideshow as New Library as options. Tried using media browser in iDVD to find my Aperture slideshow. Nothing under the Video tab, and only pictures under the Photos tab. Not sure of the utility of creating a slideshow in A3 if I can't burn to DVD...

That's the wrong place. Look at the top right of the slideshow window for EXPORT. This will give you the export options you want.

I can get the export to work, but can't get iDVD to play or export the audio track. Any one figured this out yet?

What Export options did you choose?

I just Exported a slideshow from Aperture 3.0.1 as HD 720p and created a disk image file with iDVD. Everything was fine.

I'm using Aperture 3.01.

I've tried exporting as AppleTV and as 720p. Neither of these options worked for me. The video looks great but the music track is not playing.

I am getting the same issue. However I have 3 audio tracks and only the first track doesn't play the other two play fine.

I have had the same problem exporting slideshows to the HD formats. I have had success with the smaller formats including the AppleTV. My slideshow is only a test so I kept it small, only 26 pics and one song, but still had failure at 1080 and with the 720 I only had audio, no video. My research found that the error message received is an issue with Quicktime, and according to another software developer the solution is to not allow your display to go to sleep. I turned my energy settings to NEVER sleep for both display and computer. I also turned off HD sleep. I now have successfully created a HD 720 slide show. I will test the 1080 shortly.

Success with an HD 1080p export. Try changing your energy settings to "never" during your exports. The screensaver coming on did not appear to be a factor.

I cannot get aperture to export my slideshow using 1080i - I just get an error message at the end that it was unable to export it. Aperture also crashes alot and I have done the upgrade. At this point I would like to go back to Aperture 2.0 as it was at least stable. I am just trying to get the dang slideshow off my desk and to my customer.
