Sometimes there is an erratic jump between slides with what seems to be a trivial move of the mouse, often just lifting it up a little, with no sliding of fingers over the top. Happens often enough that it is a real nuisance.
Anyone else having the same issue?
Yeh! I thought I was going crazy. I don't know what it is.. I can be sitting there and all of a sudden my PPT presentation scrolls down about 10 slides. I've taken to using my old ("doesn't scroll anymore") mighty mouse when using PPT. Yikes!
Glad to see I'm not alone. This does not appear to be related to the version of powerpoint. I moved a presentation between the Windows version 2007 (running under fusion) with the same results as mac version of powerpoint 2004 and 2008. The only workaround I can find is to disable scrolling for the mouse in preferences.
Also having trouble with powerpoint 2008 12.2.4 scrolling excessively for the slightest touch of the magic mouse. I have tried adjusting scroll speed, tracking and momentum settings all with no luck. Come on Apple, please fix this.
I haven't noticed this problem (i'm going to try it in a bit) but you should all try disabling "scrolling with momentum" in System Preferences.
To do this, open System Preferences, click Mouse, then, right next to the checkbox with the text Scroll, click the menu that says "with momentum" and change it to "without momentum."
I've also the same problem with Office 2008. The way is to disable the scroll function. But as I always, in my work sessions, alternates between Office apps and other apps where scrolling is necessary and usefull (browsers, etc), it is a very awkward and un-productive way to work: anytime I must go to prefs pannel for abling or disabling the function.
I'd like to have a menubar shorcut which would easily put this function on/off. Magicprefs do not appear to be useful por this. Any tip? Maybe some "automator" script?
The good news is, yes - I have exactly the same issue, so you're not the only one!. The bad news - I have no idea how to fix it either, and have looked everywhere for a fix, to no avail...
What version of Microsoft Powerpoint are you using? I'm trying to duplicate this problem and I'm not seeing an issue… Can you maybe explain more about what's exactly causing the problem?
Yes, I got the same problem too. I am using MS Powerpoint 2008 v.12.2.3. This happens quite frequently, so it is a real problem when trying to get a presentation together.
This problem is so annoying! Has anyone found a solution yet? I really like using the momentum scrolling for browsing the web and I don't want to shut it off. Is there a better solution?
