Safari keeps loading and loading and loading

I have an iMac PowerPC G5 running OS 10.4.11 and using Safari 4.0.4. When I load webpages it seems to never stop loading and loading.... The little spinning sprocket keeps turning for several minutes until I get tired of it and manually Stop the page from trying to complete loading. It seems everything appears on the pages that is supposed to, but the "Loading" never stops!
What's going on? Is there a fix?
Thanks!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11), Safari 4.0.3 (4531.9)

HI,

Try maintenance...

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

Relaunch Safari. If you still have problems...

Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1594

If third party plugins aren't the issue..

If you are visiting sites that stream Flash content such as YouTube, try uninstalling your current Flash plugin and reinstalling a new copy.

Uninstall Flash

Install Flash

Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. If it's a successful launch, then that .plist file needs to be moved to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.

Help!!! I have a similar problem. I am Australian using Australian macbook in Sao Paulo, have been accessing internet via airport to the home network where I am staying. Was running fast as usual untill a few days ago.

I have tried: checking all airport / network settings. then resetting them
: checking safari settings, emptying cache, resetting safari
: refreshing wireless network and modem

I have no idea what else to do! Hoping someone can help please!

Well, I've been having these issues with safari since I don't even know when, I've done the whole reset thing, erase .plist files cleaned all sorts of caches but still it takes more than 45 seconds to return a simple google search....

honestly now, I am a Mac freak! I love Apple, I really really do. But as much as it hurts I am using Google's Chrome, and though I refuse to set it as my default browser, I think I'm heading that way...

*big sigh*
