When I plug-in my nano to my Windwos 7 syncing is extremely slow even when there's only one file to sync. I have the lates iTunes version (9.0.3.15). I tried all USB ports - same result. Do you have any ideas what the problem might be.
Thanks! I can't track down precise chipset details for that one, but I'm pretty sure it's not an Intel PM55, which rules out one possibility.
We'd better check on your Power Management settings. Even though your iPod is currently being recognised, if you apply the measures from the following document, do you get a better sync?

Thanks! Sync's definitely faster now, but iTunes still freezes for most of the time during sync (I forgot to mention that in the first post). Also, after the first automatic sync is complete, when I change a setting (for example check the "Sync checked items" box) and click Apply, iTunes dispalys "Syncinng iPod. Don't Disconnect." and freezes, but the iPod still shows the main menu, as if it's not connected. After a few minutes iTunes shows the "iPod cannot be syced" message.
Toshibas can have issues with their USB connections with older versions of the BIOSes in place. (They're much better now that they used to be, though.)
Can you confirm your model number for me Yan? I've been searching the main Toshiba support page to references for the Toshiba Satellite L450-01M (so I can check on BIOS updates and chipset drivers and so forth, but I'm not able to locate any information for that particular model:
🙂 Please forgive me for being a bit relieved that I didn't have to search through a Bulgarian-language support site ... (In recent times I've been spending a lot of time searching for stuff at Acer's
Italian support site ... it's doable, but a bit nervewracking.)
Good-O. Found the drivers and downloads page, and there's a BIOS update available for the L450-01M: Version 1.30, posted 1/4/2010. Are you up to date on that?
Hmmm. Okay, the BIOS was the only new update available for the model.
Just doublechecking. In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you been through the following document?
