These apps can't be deleted and were probably moved to another page of your home screen. You can try looking for them on the other screens or the Spotlight search.

You can also try resetting the standard icon layout. This will rearrange the stock apps to their original positions and 3rd party apps alphabetically. However to do this, you'll have to find the Settings app with the search function.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

BTW, if the reason you don't want to update the firmware is because your phone is hacked or jailbroken, this may not work and you won't get any support here.

thanks for your replay ... really appreciate it ...

I have looked for the icons every where , searched in every single page , still couldnt find it !

regarding the restore , it is not that my iphone is hacked , No No
but am happy with the 3.1.2 OS ... I dont wonna suffer again in the future.

    regards

What happens when you enter "Settings" (without the quotation marks) in the iPhone Spotlight Search box?

If you can't find it that way, there is no choice but to restore. Since you're having this problem with the 3.1.2 firmware, why do want to stick with it?
