MagSafe 60W Charger Repairs

So I see a lot of complaining about the MagSafe charger for the MBP and the wires fraying and leading to intermittent charging. I have no problems yet with the cable that came with my MBP, but I bought a back up one on eBay and it is very positional. Sometimes I can wiggle it and set it up to work as long as I don't move it. That is fine for when I am sitting at my desk, but i would never move around with it.

My question is has anyone found a company to repair these cables? I would think there has to be someone that is skilled enough to cut out the bad sections of the wire and reconnect it all so that it looks like new again. I have found some do-it-yourself jobs online, but I am not interested in trying this myself since I don't have the tools. I would be willing to pay to have it done so I can use this cable again.

Thanks for any input

If the cable is frayed....

Whether your product is in or out-of-warranty, you can take your adapter to an Apple-Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement if necessary. You may be eligible for a replacement adapter free of charge provided there are no signs of accidental damage.
Although you are not required to bring in the computer used with the adapter please be sure to bring the serial number from the computer; it is required to process potential replacements. To locate the serial number for your computer please follow the steps in the article appropriate for your computer: MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air.
If you plan to visit an Apple Retail store please make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).

Apple replaced mine in the USA, despite no applecare - quite right too, I'd say - but nonetheless, it was a pleasantly easy exchange.

Mine was the cable braided shield, just below the outer sleeve that had frayed. This carries the full charging current, and will get hot enough to melt plastic if it's used when there's not much conductor left conducting.
