Issues with Star Wars Force Unleashed Sith Edition/ Graphics Card Question

Hello,
I just bought the new Star wars force unleashed ultimate sith edition. for some reason it is not working right.. it's running so slow that it's making it unplayable! I have a brand new imac.
I meet all the requirements on the box! The only thing I can think of is that it says the game requires a GeForce 8800 graphics card, I have GeForce 9400.. Isn't my card better than what the requirement lists? They also list several other cards but not mine. (8600,8800,9600 and GT129)
I don't know anything about graphics cards...would this cause the problem I am having?? The people at the apple store said it would work..but that's if they knew what they were talking about.
Any help is appreciated..even if I have to return the game. I just want to know for future reference what to look out for.
Thank you in advance!

Hi-

Please clarify the following-

Exactly which iMac do you have? How much memory?

Are you playing the Mac version of the game, or are you playing the pc version through Parallels, VMWare or Bootcamp?

What graphics settings do you have configured in the game? If you haven't already, try lowering the resolution of the game to no better than 1024-768, or 1344-756, and try turning anti-aliasing off.

I have the newest imac with HD graphics. It's the basic model. It came with
4GB of Ram (the game requires 2) and 512 Hard drive space (Game requires 25gb) 3.06 ghz processor (game requires 2.4ghz)
GeFore 9400 graphics card, game says the cards listed in my original post.
There is no anti-aliasing option That is one of the complaints of the game I was reading about. I will try lowering the resolution..but it kinda stinks to have to do that!
yes I'm playing the mac version of the game.
Thanks.

yeah. I've mac pro with gt120 and 8gb ram and 4tb HD and same symptoms. i guess there that games on mac, "native" UB or Intel only they just got mac loaders for non mac OS games. it's really sad, one of the latest puter and that kind of zonk!

my suggestion is to loose X for games and get W7. on bootcamp. most of games available on the market works like a charm. ant they did "native" windows versions...

Hey all, I also had a graphic issue with this game.
I run the MAC version of this game on my Macbook Pro 10.6.2 w/ 4 GB memory and the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, but still have some gameplay problems.
The loading screens and the cutscenes with voices, audio and what not (like the lucas arts guy in the beginning and all of Darth Vader's ships attacking Kashyyyk in the prologue level) have no problem whatsoever. But it's the actual game play is what's making it hard to enjoy this game. Everything is running slow!
The character will move slowly when I press the keys or the mouse, and even though the response is right away, the actions are performed much more slowly. Same with anything that the character interacts with (but the background of the levels, ie. tie fighters passing by move with normal speed).

My max display is 1280 X 800. I have somewhat better performance at 640 x 480, with the game playing as fullscreen with 800 x 600 resolution, but still it's nothing to brag about.

Anybody have any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks a lot!

I purchased the new i5 macbook pro and this game is barely playable. When I start the game i have to put the graphics options as low and I still get massive low frame rate.

It turns out that the game was in general a horrible port and not only are the mac users suffering but pc users as well. So in the end its not your iMac thats the problem, but the game itself.
