I tried resyncing the entire music library and have this issue...

ALl playlists sync fine.

Except one doesnt show up at all all of the sudden....

Now whats weird is I CAN MAKE A DUPLICATE of it, and THAT does show up.. but if I delete the original OR the duplicate then it will not anymore.

I have tried everything, and if someone can tell me if ther eis something to do (I already tried totally resyncing the music and playlists but it didnt work) then please le tme know... I dont know why this happens with just ONE smart playlist.. Maybe this has to do with the latest iphone or itunes patch? Anyone else have this?

Dell XPS420, Windows 7

I am having a similar problem. All of my playlists sync correctly to iPhone except for one of the smart playlists. A playlist with the same name appears on my iPhone but it has totally different songs in it, songs which don't even fit the smart playlist's criteria. What's even stranger is that when I click the blue triangle next to iPhone on the iTunes library pane, and look at the playlist there, it shows the correct songs that should have synced. It seems iTunes thinks its syncing the correct playlist but iPhone is just showing random music.

Mike I haven't tried duplicating the playlist to see what happens.

Any advice please let me know....

Hey, I have the same problem with the smart playlist. The Recently Added playlist has a random order on my iPhone, even when I sort it as I wanted in iTunes. Any help please let me know. I am restoring my iPhone to see if it helps. I also have a playlist that shows up empty on the iPhone but has songs on the same one in iTunes. What is also weird is that when I browse my playlist on the iPhone through iTunes, playlists look fine on the screen and different from their order on the phone.

    Check this out: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3044

I did it and solved the issue. It's still weird that we have to do all this.

The official Apple resolution worked (deselecting the Live Updating option). I hope Apple is working to fix this problem though - the whole point of many Smart Playlist is that they live update.

The "official" Apple solution has not worked for me. I would like to have a smart playlist that automatically loads my podcasts onto my Shuffle for the gym each morning, but smart playlists will not sync to my Shuffle AT ALL. Very frustrating to have to manually manage all this.
