Sorry, my fault - I misread. But the same answer applies, just in reverse. All iPhones sold in Canada are carrier-locked to one of four carriers - Rogers, Fido, Telus, or Bell. They can ONLY be used with SIM cards from the carrier the phone is locked to. Only the original carrier can unlock the phone, and _none of those carriers will do that_. So, you cannont get your phone unlocked to work with a local SIM, and you need to sell the phone to someone in Canada and buy a phone in India, and that phone will be locked to Airtel or Vodaphone, whichever carrier you buy from.
There are some countries where the iPhone is sold unlocked - Hong Kong, Belgium, Italy, etc., but in most countries the phone is locked to a specific carrier and cannot be unlocked. Also, for both locked and unlocked phones, warranty service is only provided in the country of purchase.
Bottom line, you'll need to buy a new iPhone.
