mini mac surge protection

Does a mini mac have any surge protection built-in? I am wondering if I will need to buy a surge protector for travel with my mini mac.

Gordo,

No, there is no surge protection built in to a mini. The power brick is not able to take the spikes when they happen. If you live in a big city it will have power that is "clean" for the most part. I live in a rural county and I have lost some electronic devices as a result of a power spike. The things I did not lose were my computers, on a UPS. Now everything in the house I don't want to throw in the trash has some kind of protection. I spend a bit more for a good protector but it beats buying TVs and the like again.

Get a good surge protector at least if you can't invest in a lower end UPS.

I hope that this helped.
