Color Askew

Upon upgrading to Aperture 3 from 2 some of my B&W photos have rebelled and taken on color despite the settings in the inspector. One has become purple, another has elements of red. The overall saturation of the image is up, as is vibrancy, but individual color saturations are off, as are the ranges of influence each color modifier has. Until now these images were B&W under current settings. After quitting and reopening the application the symptoms continue. What could be the cause?
