aiff files, .wav files etc are every where nd free and legal
virtual instruments are another story not free
if I had to suggest a site that will better direct You it would be
http://www.macjams.com ( a free site) you may need to register to access forums etc and free down loads and you can post music as well
(registration is a screen name and a password
also http://www.versiontracker.com has software A-Z including music loops, plug ins freeware, shareware and demo's

Great quality and selection. I have found that most composers there have long Hollywood feature film and major productions credits.
