Backing up QuickVoice

Is there any way of getting files from QuickVoice on my iPhone, onto my PC? Would be nice to have them safely backed up!

Where to?

I guess what I'm also really after is being able to listen to them through a device other than my phone?

And on a slightly different tangent.. I lost all files on QuickVoice once, during a sync (but which were presumably saved somewhere from a backup before that). I've since recorded new files and have backed up my phone multiple times since. Would those original files have been lost/overwritten by the backups done since I lost the files off my phone?

Backups are incremental, in that only the data that actually has changed is overwritten. Your backups are located here:

* Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
* Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
* Windows Vista: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

You would have to contact the app developer to see how to listen to these files on your computer. My guess is that you can't, but that's an educated guess. Given the backup file structure, it's doubtful you'd be able to extract the files from it.

AeryFairy - The easiest way I've found to deal with this is to record out the headphone output into another program. Save the files however you prefer.

I believe that QuickVoice has a 30 second limit to sending? Basically, I've learned only to use QuickVoice for short text to emails to myself or others. And, with google voice now doing that and becoming more popular...

I've started using Evernote for recording audio notes. 🙂
