iTunes Wont Add Some Songs

Im trying to add some songs to iTunes and i tried both adding file/folder and dragging but when i selected song/album, i get no response- no loading bar or anything. I tried opening the songs with iTunes and they played fine but still wont add to a playlist. This started happening after i upgraded iTunes and iPhone.
Help please.

Windows 7, eset nod32

If by any chance they are MP3 files, treat them with a 3rd party tag cleanup program such as MP3 Validator. That usually cures the incompatibilities that are tripping up iTunes.

1. Make sure they play correctly in another player such as Windows Media Player to make sure they did not get corrupted.

2. If they are OK, in another player, try right-clicking the file icon and choose Open With > iTunes.

3. If that does not work, then use a conversion tool such as Switch to convert them to a new MP3, and add the new MP3 to iTunes.

works in windows media player and works in iTunes as well, still wont add though

brokendrive, When iTunes plays a file, it will add it to the library if it is not already in the library. So if it "works in iTunes" it should be adding. What are you seeing when it plays in iTunes?

ah i found the problem- the songs were in the music section of itunes but in none of the playlists so they werent syncing or anything. i just had to drag them from music to a playlist. thanks for all the help 😀

i synced my iphone after doing this and i have the music and everything but the apps are gone...sync apps is enabled and i tried restoring from backup already...sigh one problem after another
