Can't download ringtones on my Iphone I purchased

I bought ringtones.
I have it on my computer - Itunes-purchased items.
After that I sync I phone with my mac.
still cant find ringtones in "ringtone file" in my iphone.
but I can see it on my" iphone ipod-music library".
Unfortunatelly can't use it as a default ringtone because it's isn't visible in ring file.
what's wrong I'm doing?

10.6, Mac OS X (10.6)

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...

Your profile indicates you are running 10.6.

Go to the Apple Menu/Software Updates. You need to run 10.6.2 and your iTunes application should be 9.0.3.

Tap Settings on your iPhone, then tap Sounds. Make sure Vibrate is turned off.

When you connect your iPhone to your computer and you see the Ringtone, click the Sync button bottom right in the iTunes window. It may not be synced.

Hello Carolyn,

However I checked already all my updates - I had similar problem before (sync my iphone with mac) -
so. I do have 10.6.2
and itunes 9.0.3
and tonight I updated my iphone as well.
Then I tried to sync my ringtones again and again - and still not happy 😟
some other ideas? - please...

You're welcome!

If you are having problems syncing your iPhone to your Mac, might be a good time to take into an Apple store or Apple certified repair provider.

You could try resetting / restoring your iPhone before doing that.

It sounds like you bought a song/sound, not a ringtone.

You have to buy the song/sound, then create the ringtone.

Once it is a ringtone, it will show under the "Ringtones" category, under "Library" in itunes.
