ILIVE docking station

I recently purchased a new iPod 5th Generation and tried to use it with an ILIVE radio docking station and it did not recognize the iPod. It worked fine with my older iPods. Anybody know if there is a fix for this problem?

Older iPods had the ability to charge/sync using Firewire. The syncing ability was removed but the charging capability remained until the advent of the Classic and the Touch, if I recall correctly. Many older accessories relied on the Firewire pins in the docking ports. If that's the case with your dock, it's not going to work with the newer iPods.
