Algoriddim djay knocks my MS out of tune when I open it!

Hi new poster here (but been around a while),

I tend to use this 'djay' program for working songs out by ear because its great for marking specific parts for repeats and you can slow down/pitch change for any tricky bits if you really need to. I've just been doing this today fine working with iTunes in the background to learn a Tom Waits track, but when I fire djay up, Mainstage goes horribly (around a semitone) out of tune! The only fix is to close djay and then restart Mainstage. It is definitelt MS that's out of tune (not djay/itunes) but the pitch wheel and tuning in preferences are both centered so I can't work this out. Using MS 1.02 on Mbook pro 2.4 duo under 10.5.8.

Any ideas? Cheers.

mainly macbook pro (and then 4 others!), Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Thank you. That totally figures. I got an Apogee Duet a little while ago and have to use it at 48K sample rate to stop an annoying soft hiss in the monitors (not an uncommon problem it seems 😟 ) so djay must kick in and knock it back to 44 K and out of tune. Didn't listen long enough to look out for the tell tale hiss. Will check it.

Thanks Blueberry.

Come to think of it though - it shouldn't let the tuning be effected by sample rate - middle C should be middle C no matter what the sampling rate in a musical instrument surely (I know it effects pitch of recorded material of course)? I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but this can't make sense can it? It implies different tunings all over the place, which can't be right.... or am I missing something?! 😉
