Please help- how to update IBook G4 running OS 10.3.9 ?

Hi. I am really hoping someone can give me good advice.
I've noticed that the latest browsers available will not run on my outdated operating system.
I do not know what to do, and really don't want to purchase a new computer.

I have an iBook G4 that I bought in 2004.
It runs OS 10.3.9
Processor: 1.2 GHz Power PC G4
Memory: 512 MB DDR SDRAM

Purchase and install a retail copy of Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5.

Where can I purchase v10.5?
They only seem to sell v10.6 on the Apple Store site?

I am having the same problem. My computer has a Power PC processor, so I cannot update to 10.5, only 10.4. It is on eBay for $150-$200. How can I get it without paying an arm and a leg? It seems silly to pay this much for an outdated operating system for an outdated computer. It also seems silly to buy a new computer when my old one was working fine until now.
