Provisioning Profile Expiration Pop-up

When I woke up my iPhone this morning it had this message on the screen:

Provisioning Profile Expiration

Provisioning Profile "CST Ad Hoc" will expire in 13 days.

[Remind Me] [Show Me]

I tapped Show Me, and got this:

Settings
General
Profile

Provisioning

CST Ad Hoc

Verified [Remove]

Received Aug 22, 2009
Expires Mar 8, 2010 (in 13 days)
-------------------------------------------

Do I need to do anything about this?

i suspect you need to talk to your IT folks or whoever it was that created that profile

I'm retired, so I don't have any IT folks to blame. Is this profile something an app has created? If so, is there any way to find out what app created it, so I can contact the developer?

The "CST" in the message makes me wonder if it has to do with the upcoming time change, but March 8 is six days short of the time change.

it could be an app - but most apps just create entries in settings - provisioning profile have to do with Microsoft Exchange - are you using that by any chance?

No, I'm not using Exchange, just Mozilla Thunderbird.

well unless anyone else who replies has any idea my only advise would be to call Apple support or make an appointment at an Apple store Genius bar if there is one near you

Provisioning profiles, in addition to Enterprise configuration, are also used to authorize the phone for apps in beta that have not yet been released to the app store. So if you have an app from a friend or participated in a beta of some app in the past this is the source of the message.

Mark: Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate the time and effort!

Lawrence: I think you've hit it on the head. I was sent a development version of an app back in August, and the date matches the Received date for the profile. I've emailed the developer to get a fix.
