Hi- can I retrieve it? I was trying to get it to play on the way home but deleted it by accident. I haven't synced yet. It is a 3GS

If you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since this voice memo was created, the voice memo is lost with no way to recover it.
If you synced your iPhone with iTunes since this voice memo was created, the voice memo should be included with your iPhone's backup, which is updated as the first step during the iTunes sync process. And if you have include voice memos selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences, the voice memo should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
If the former and not the latter, you can restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup. Do not sync your iPhone with iTunes before doing so and when prompted to update your iPhone's backup after selecting Restore, decline this prompt or your iPhone's backup will be overwritten removing this voice memo from your iPhone's backup.
