Running 3DS Max with Fusion on a Mac?

Hi,

Currently am trying to run 3DS Max trail on a Mac before purchasing it.

Ok, I have created a partion from boot camp for windows XP, and windows now is setup, then I run the OS disc for the drivers on the windows screen, after I have installed the software.

So after I went back into OS and started up VMware Fusion, rather than Parrells, as Parrells couldn't find the bootcamp partion.

So Fusion ran and started very well. And after booted up 3DS Max, and run the service pack 1, but still getting an error:

The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.

So I found my Graphics card on NVIDIA and its still not recognizing?

My Graphics card is: NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800

Do you know how to get around this, before I can try and test it before we purchase it?

Many thanks,

Kooch

Like Templeton Peck said boot camp is the way to run Max. I am running 3DS Max on my MacBook Pro and it runs well.

Looking at the spec’s you put down for your Mac Pro, Max on XP is not going to get you best results. With XP you will only see about 3.5 GB of ram from the 8 GB you have and only see one of your CPU's unless it’s XP 64 bit.

Your are better of with boot camp and Windows 7 Pro to really utilise your machine, Max should fly on that set up.

Also Nvidia do specific drivers for 3DS Max on Quadro FX 4800
