Weird Beeping Sounds through Headphones

Hi, since getting my new MacPro (2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon) I've been getting weird sounds coming through my headphones in FCP. It only happens when I pause a video. The sound is kind of a like a bunch of fast digital pops or beeps, sometimes just for a second when I stop the track, and sometimes it just turns into a bit of a hissing and won't go away until I play the video again.

I'm using the headphone port on the front of the tower.

Any suggestions?

You know.. just to affirm your problem... I've had the same issue too. Though with two different issues. First is a whooshing/wherrrring sound almost like a video power interference kinda thing and the second is a louder more distorted white/pink noise. The latter happens also watching hulu or even playing iTunes and goes away with a reboot (only to come back and unforseen times -- but not all that often).

The first one... well, I haven't had this problem since I had my video card replaced. Wait - let me rephrase that... I haven't noticed this problem being a problem since I can remember back to maybe when my video card was replaced.

Not sure those are/were related. You having any other issues with your video playback on your computer screen? Odd colors? Green lines? Hot temps????

Again, all I'm really doing is agreeing that you aren't alone nor just flat hearing things.
