WPA password prompt (or lack thereof)

I'm trying to install WPA security on my network. I have a G3 iBook and a G4 PowerMac connected to a Netgear router. I've got the G3 (laptop) connected via wireless and the G4 (desktop) connected via Ethernet. Both work fine without secutity. However when I enable WPA security on the router (changes made via the G3) I'm unable to connect the G4 to the internet. In trying to connect the G4 to the internet- I am not prompted for a password, nor can I find a place for a password in the Network System Prefs. And thus, I cannot connect to the G4 to the internet.

what am I missing here?

WPA only applies to wireless connections and is not applicable to a cabled computer (like your G4).

Enabling WPA should have no impact on the G4 whatsoever.

What happens when you use the G4 to configure the router?

Is there an Airport Express connected to the Netgear router or are you only using a wireless router?
