Q: disappearing lun labels

Hi,
I have a problem with lun labels disappearing after rebooting the metadata controller on our XSan setup. Here's the basic config:

1 promise vtrak unit
1 apple xraid unit circa 2007
1 Fibre Channel switch
2 10.6.2 metadata controllers
1 10.5 client
XSan 2.2

After updating and rebooting one of the mdc's - the volume that resides on the apple xraid unit will not mount. Opening up XSan (v. 2.2) shows that the luns belonging to that volume appear as though they are new (i.e. no labels, disk utility asks if it should initialize them) After re-labeling the luns with the old names, the volume will start and mount normally, with data intact.

The apple xraid unit is divided into two raid 5 arrays, which both have 2 "slices". Hence, there are 4 luns that appear in XSan and all are grouped into a single volume w/ metadata being written to another spare lun on the Promise disk array. I'm wondering if having the metadata lun on separate hardware is a problem, or if anyone has experience with similar behavior. Thanks!
