short cut keys to change font color

Hi all,
Is there a combination of key strokes that can be used to change the color of a font without having to lose the momentum? I want to type out a list of vocabulary words; where the targeted word is typed in one color, and the surrounding words typed in black. Is there a way to do this without having to stop, change font color, type word, change font color BACK, then type on until next targeted word is coming up?

Assign a Character Style to the colored text and give that an F-key short cut in the Styles Drawer.

Lisa,

You could define Character Styles in the Styles Drawer for each color you use. A simple click on a Character Style's name in the drawer will switch the color and you can keep on typing.

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for the suggestion. I suppose that would be one alternative. I was hoping to not have to stop and click anything--but to just fluidly keep right on typing without having to break my momentum. I'm not sure it could be done, but thought I'd throw it out there incase someone might know of a shortcut.

Of course, then I could assign a hot key to switch character styles on the fly..
