Can my Mac Pro early 2008 with ATI Radeon HD 2006 use a 34' LCD display?

can anyone please tell me if the Mac Pro's video card can handle a LCD display of 34 inches?

I have been searching through the forums seeking for an answer on this and there is none. I just want to know if this is possible before I go on and buy the display.

Also does the Mac Pro has a place to connect a HDMI cable?....I cannot seem to find it anywhere?....or how can I connect the display to the mac? hence it uses a HDMI cable for connection purposes...

It will handle any display size. You will need a DVI to HDMI cable or adapter, such as:

Malcolm...thanks for replying...and good to know that such adaptor exists...although going through some of the posts within the macmini forum (as it was suggested), what about the audio signal?

the adaptor you suggest does not transport audio, therefore...it solves the video problem but not the audio part...

I wonder...so how can this be solve totally....

how do you connect the minidisplay male connector into the MacPro?

That adapter is for Mini DisplayPort, not DVI. There are adapters to combine DVI and digial audio into HDMI:

They will need adapters to convert the optical digital audio from the Mac Pro to coax digital audio.

Most HDMI TVs have audio connectors for at least one of the HDMI ports, so you can use a separate audio cable from the Mac Pro's line out.

Thanks Malcolm for your reply...indeed I think I was kinda lost considering the Macmini ports...now thanks to your help I am back on track...lol...

I'd visited both websites and looked at both adapters...and well, considering the initial cost/investment, the lightinthebox offer is far cheaper than that from Gefen, Inc....but the Chinese....hmmm....quality....in the doubt....anything US within the chinese price?...I wonder...

Sorry but it is a fact that one has to be rather careful with chinese merchantise...fact...is ones money...
