Apple Care on ebay ?

Hi! I've seen there are a lot of ebayers selling Apple Care at a very low price.
What do you think about it ?
Many thanks.

Might be a de-bundling of Mac and Care by that dealers.
I would check with Apple if they allow that in your country.
When I got my 27'' with Apple Care (ordered from Apple), Care was pre-registed with the machine. As Care is an extended warranty, it is certainly not transferrable once it is registered with one Mac.

I do not imply that is fraudulent of the eBay sellers but it would not be the first time someone tried "to be clever".

Actually, in the USA at least, AppleCare is transferable to the new owner of an iMac.
I been on both sides of the transaction. That is, a recipient of AppleCare and as someone who transferred it to a buyer of my [former] iMac.

If it is a vender with a good reputation it does not matter if they email the serial number or snail mail you a physical box. The venders that send the serial number are just cutting out having to send you a box with a serial number inside, which is all Apple Care is. You would know immediately if something was wrong when you registered your Mac online with the AppleCare serial number.

Amigo, if the seller makes a living selling Apple products, their reputation as a vender on Ebay is completely relevant. I have been buying Apple Care from Ebay venders for over five years for iMacs, Mac minis, iPods, iTouches, iPhones, etc. and have successfully used the Apple Care for warranty repairs and replacement. I have never been shipped packaging. I have always used a vender that emails me the serial number.

If an Apple Care serial number was not any good you would know that as soon as you tried to register the Apple product with the Apple Care serial number, not some period of time down the road when you needed to rely on it for coverage. Apple does not work that way as a corporation.

If you are really gun shy about using an Ebay vender, it is probably best for your peace of mind to buy from another source.

That is not entirely correct. Read the following pages and, more importantly, search a number of forums on the internet and you will see that it is a little more complex than you are making it out.

You should perhaps reread what is written. Those of us who buy Apple Care from Ebay venders are purchasing from authorized Apple resellers who are also reputable Ebay venders, not some scam artist.

If you are uncomfortable buying on Ebay, do not buy on Ebay. I have saved thousands of dollars buying on Ebay for many years. I have never had an issue that was not immediately rectified by a vender. I have never had an issue with the Apple Care I have purchased on Ebay.
