Replacement battery for iBook G3 500 MHz (dual USB)
Is the new ibook 12.1 inch battery compatible with an 12.1 inch iBook G3 or is it only for the G4 iBooks?

The 12-inch G4 iBook will work fine in a G3 12-inch iBook.
It should give you better performance than your original battery did when new, in fact. Batteries have improved over the years.
