I'm a Mac newbie, so this may be very simple to everyone else. I'm working in Pages and the documents open to the left side of the screen. If I attempt to make pages full screen the document still remains the same side on the left side of the screen. It's difficult to read without zoom and annoying. In Word, I would change it by views, but I can't seem to locate the correct command for Pages. Any help would be oh so greatly appreciated.
In Pages09 the page opens to the left in the window but center on the screen. There is no way you can change its placement in the window. you can only change the windows position.
For Full screen did you use the Enter Full screen in the View menu? It is still in the center of the screen but with black surrounding.
If you are after having grey on both sides of the page make your desktop grey and don't clutter it with icons.
Down the bottom left corner of the screen is the % screen view. Adjust that to your liking.
Also you can fiddle with how fonts are rendered on screen:
+System Preferences > Personal > Appearance > Font smoothing style (bottom)+
If you come from Windows the more accurate rendering on the Mac takes some getting used to.
Microsoft enlarges the text and bolds it to make it easier to read on screen. To my view if I wanted it 2 pts larger and in bold I'd select that in styles. Since it makes it hard to tell when it +actually is+ bold and 2 pts larger, I don't.
When it comes to legibility you can change the zoom factor for each document as Peter told you or you can set it in the Pages Preferences > general Preferences > Default zoom > I have 125 5 but it might be another that works better for you.
