Are you saying that you now have to "switch" wireless networks if you are running AirTunes and want to browse using Safari?

If that's the case, you have your AirPort Express configured to "create a wireless network". Instead, you need to configure it to "join" your wireless network. If you do this, you will be able to browse the internet and stream AirTunes simultaneously.

You would use AirPort Utility to reconfigure your AirPort Express to "join" your wireless network that you use for the internet browsing.

Sorry to jump in, however I'm having the same problem. Also I'm a newbee to Mac's as I just made the switch from PC.

I have my TC as the base and my Express connected via ethernet to my Samsung TV. I need an internet connection to use the Video On Demand features on my TV. When I am using the TV's internet, it cuts off my access to the internet on the iMac. I have to reconnect to the network on the iMac to use the internet.

The TC is set to 'create a wireless network' and the Express is set to ' join a wireless network'. I do notice that while in manual config for Express, there is a tab called "Base Station". Could this be the problem?

Thanks

You have the correct setting for the Express if you configured it to "Join a wireless network", but you must also make sure that "enable ethernet clients" has been checked to allow the ethernet port to be active.

Open AirPort Utility, select the Express and click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab to check your settings

The easiest way to test to make sure that the ethernet port is working on the Express is connect a laptop to the device using ethernet and turn off wireless on your laptop. If you can get an internet connection, then you know that you have the Express configured correctly.

If you happen to have an older version of the AirPort Express, Model # 1084, then you will not see the "enable ethernet clients" option as this is not available on the earlier version. Post back for more info if needed.
