iPhone screen really dark, unable to us it! Help!

Right i've been restoring, backing up, syncing and trying different things all day. I've found this and the screen has been ok for 10 minutes now! My issue was intermittant so i knew the screen could go bright.

"Alright what ya wanna do is go into your settings/go into brightness/turn off the Auto Brightness feature off/turn the iPhone completely off/wait 30 seconds/from there turn it back on/check to see if the auto brightness is still off/if not put it into sleep mode/wake it up/should have the same brightness as it did when you put it to sleep/now that the phone is back on/go bvack inbto settings then brightness/turn on auto brightness/shut down the phone/wait 30 seconds/then turn the phone back on./put it to sleep/wake it up/problem should be solved//VR"

I tried all this, the screen did not recover. the only sign of brightness happens whenever turning the phone back on - the apple goes bright for a moment after which everything goes so dark again.

if I connect it to the computer, nothing changes, the screen remains dark.

have any other ideas?

Apple does not deal with iPhone in India so no place official for me to go and fix the problem 😟

Strange i got the same problem last night.
When my phone is plugged into my computer the screen goes back to its usual bright setting and as soon as its unplugged it returns to a barely viewable dark setting?!?!
Try syncing and see if u get the same as me

I have exactly the same problem. Dark screen almost unable to work with the phone, except for calls of course.
Any new suggestions what to do. I also see the apple blinking a short while when restarting so it should not be any hardware problem. Only software. Should I go to my store and do a reclamation or not?

Do you have a case on it that might be obstructing the proximity sensors?

Since it is under warranty, the next step is to take it in to whoever is authorized to service the iPhone in your country.

Were they on automatic or manual ?

If on auto, leave it on manual.

i think best u do a backup now in case everything is gone or u have to send it for repair. Try a restore to factory / new iPhone and see if it help. 🙂
