"Keep me logged in" not working

Question

"Keep me logged in" not working

I used sites like Yahoo! and Facebook and Gmail. I always use their "keep me logged in" for however long option, but lately, not sure what I have done or if it isn't me, no matter if the box is checked or not, I have to repeatedly login each time I go there, even numerous times a day! I have always had all usernames and passwords stored in keychain. What could the problem be?

Hi

that particular problem, is usually to do with cookies &/or cookie settings,
rather than keychain.

I'd start by deleting the relevant (or all) cookies in Safari-Preferences-Security-Show Cookies... restarting Safari, & seeing if that helps. If it doesn't, quit Safari & move the file Cookies.plist from Home/Library/Cookies/ to the Desktop.

I tried both suggestions, neither solved the problem. BTW, what does moving the file to the desktop actually do? Could this be a virus problem? Is this more likely a Mac issue, ISP issue, or Safari issue?

Test in a new user account - that will tell us if it's something system-wide, or restricted to your regular account.
