"Color Label" on Smart Albums doesn't work?

I'm looking for possible insight as to why a smart album I just create isn't working. I created a smart album that checks for "Color Label" "is" (Purple circle). I then found a photo in my library and gave it the purple color. When I went back to the smart album, every single photo in my library was present, including the purple one. I have ensured that nothing else is checked (I even deleted all of the rules except for rating, which works fine if I switch it on and off). Can anyone help me figure out what's going on here? Interestingly enough, "Color Label is not" works fine if I select (no color), then showing only the photos I've tagged with a color.
