HELP! im trying to outline my textbook but i have to keep changing it!

i want to outline in a format like arrow, bullet, star, dash, but when i do this, i have to keep going over to inspector to change it. is there anyway to save it so i can keep typing?

Are you really talking about Outlining:

+Menu > View > Show Document Outline+

or do you mean Lists? :

+Inspector > Text > List+

Pages rely on the user to set up Styles. when you have created your list style you inly have to click on it and the selected text will change.
Read about styles in the PAges User Guide, downloadable from the Pages Help menu.
