Can't update Apps, now getting new error message

The multiple accounts thing is not the problem. I have two accounts (only use one), and it won't let me update on either of them. Moreover, I've had the same two accounts for a long time, and this problem is recent. It followed the same patter as the OP - first it would say no updates available, now the "major version" error.

I can update on my iphone.

Same problem here. I'm on OS X 10.6.2, iTunes 9.0.3. I have 24 updates pending and I don't even know which one is causing this problem.

Same here since yesterday, my cooking Mama, a 6.99$ apps dont allow me to update my already paid app when Itunes 9.0.3.15 say a free update is available. Apple need to fix this ASAP

when i click get update i have this message:

You do not qualify for this price
this discounted price is only available to customers who own previous version of this item. To purchase this item at full price click OK

at 6.99$ app im not willing to click buy.... I pay my apps instead of pirating to avoid headache and problem and voila i cant have what i paid for... Thanks apple to make my life so complicated since i own my **** Iphone

I have been getting the same error message as of today. Up until yesterday I was able to update apps without any issues. I use the German and US iTunes stores, though I think most apps are from the German one.

I just want to add that I can update apps directly on the iPhone. I don't like doing it because after a transfer of 300MB per month, my provider slows down my 3G connection speed. But this seems to be a problem with iTunes, not my account in general.

Got the same issue here. I have some apps that were free and some that were paid. Both sets not working. Any ideas as to why this happened?

it's strange because not all update have this issue. I can update some free and paid apps ( over 10 update was succeful) and few (4-5)others have this problem and cannot be updated. Itunes didnt been updated since beginning of this issue.

For the free one who cannot be updated, i just deleted already owned in itunes and re-downloaded updated version again without any problem.But for my paid apps, i will need to wait That apple fix it.

I googled and i see this problem already happen in 2007 or 2008 but i just found problem report, no solution. I will try to spend couple minute to find out on google and try to call apple or contact apple expert on the web there tomorrow: http://www.apple.com/support/expert/ and come back to tell what they said. If someone found please post !!

emailed apple itunes support to report problem. im supposed to have a return within 24 hours... let see

The iTunes Store needs a lot of work - first I could not buy a gift, now I cannot download FREE updates to my apps (some of which were FREE in the first place).

Same problem here. I had 24 App updates and had to click on them one by one and now 11 of them give me that same frustrating message. I have authorized my MBP again and guess what? That's right it used one of my Authorizations again
