Buffalo Hard drive

Is there any chances that i can have my buffalo hard drvie work in my mac,

The system shows that it does not recognize the hard drive, but the manual says, it is MAC compatible.

I've done installign the software for MAC, but there are no chances that im seeing it in any of my drives either saved or installed..

Can anyone help me through this, thank you so much

mbp 13", Mac OS X (10.6.2)

More info would help. What model Buffalo drive do you have, what software have you installed, & how are you connecting it to your MBP?

I have an older 500 GB Buffalo "DriveStation Combo" with both USB & Firewire ports. It works fine with my Macs without installing any software. (It came with Buffalo's "TurboUSB" software that is supposed to speed up USB transfers but I never installed that.)

This USB drive certainly appears to be compatible with Macs & Snow Leopard. If you attach it to one of your USB ports & launch Disk Utility, does it show anything at all in the list on the left that might be it? Does it make any noises when it is attached?

If not, or if it makes unusual noises like constant clicking, it may be defective. Buffalo claims a one year warranty for this model, so you should be able to arrange for an exchange if needed.
