Very new to Mac and iMovie. I need to make a movie for work, but need to save it as an mpeg file so that our communications department can take it and embed it into a Powerpoint presentation.
Is there an easy way to save as mpeg?
Make your movie project, open it, then go to the Share menu and choose "export using Quick time" and you can export it (direct it to your desktop to fond easy) as as .mov file which then can be put right into Powerpoint. very easy to do. the movie exporting into a .mov file can take a long time if a long movie
h.264 - which is MPEG4 - is the default export setting for iMovie.
If your communications people need MPEG2 or MPEG1, that is different and would require more detailed instructions using 3rd party tools.
MPEG3 is audio only.
