Please help me! Someone else turned the passcode option ON on my iphone and I do not like it. I would like to turn it off. The apple website says to go to General>settings>passcodelock, enter passcode "and then click passcode off". I do not have this option on my screen. My only options are to change the passcode or change the time until the passcode comes on. Erase data is on the screen but is greyed out and cannot be selected. Am I having this problem because I have the older (not 3G) iphone?

Dell, Windows XP Pro

Was the "someone else" an exchange account? If so, that would explain why you do not have those options. If in fact the requirement for a passcode was set by an exchange account, you will have to deal with your IT people. If this is not the case, it could have been done through a configuration profile.

If you don't have the option of "Turn Passcode Off", then I suspect you're accessing your MS Exchange server at work. If so, your corporate security policies have disabled the feature to turn the passcode off. This is obviously a security measure. You'll have to speak to your IT department about it.
